Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of YardGrade, a directory that ranks Canadian yard-service companies and matches homeowners with contractor quotes. By using YardGrade or submitting a quote request, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Effective date: September 3, 2026.
What is YardGrade, and what does it not do?
YardGrade is an information and referral service. We publish rankings and cost guides, and, as stated on the quote form, we send an anonymized version of your quote request, without your name, email or phone, to up to 3 matched independent contractors, who send back quotes for you to compare. Your contact details are shared only with the one contractor you pick. YardGrade is not a contractor, does not perform any landscaping, interlocking or snow removal work, and is not a party to any agreement you make with a contractor. Any contract for work is strictly between you and the business you hire.
Is the listing and ranking information guaranteed?
YardGrade information is provided on an as-is basis. We work to keep listings, ratings and pricing accurate, but we do not warrant that any detail is complete, current or error-free, and rankings are our editorial opinion based on a published formula. A high rank is not a certification, endorsement, or guarantee of any contractor's work, insurance, licensing or conduct. Always verify details and get written quotes before hiring.
Who is responsible if there is a dispute with a contractor?
You are responsible for choosing and dealing with any contractor. YardGrade is not liable for the quality, safety, timing, pricing or legality of work performed by a contractor you find or are matched with through the site. Any dispute, claim, damage or loss arising from a contractor relationship is strictly between you and that contractor. We encourage you to confirm insurance, references and written contracts first.
Where does the review data come from?
Ratings and reviews shown on YardGrade are sourced from public Google Maps data and remain the property of Google and the individual reviewers. Google and Google Maps are trademarks of Google LLC, which does not sponsor or endorse YardGrade. Business names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear on YardGrade for identification and directory purposes only.
Who owns the content on YardGrade?
The YardGrade name, site design, rankings, written cost guides and original data compilations are owned by YardGrade and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use with attribution, but you may not scrape, copy, resell or republish our rankings, datasets or content in bulk without written permission. Automated data harvesting of the site is not permitted.
How may you use the quote service?
You agree to submit quote requests only for genuine projects, using accurate contact details that are yours to share. You may not use YardGrade to send spam, impersonate others, submit false requests, or interfere with the site's operation or security. We may decline, remove or block requests that appear fraudulent or abusive to protect homeowners and the contractors on YardGrade.
What are the limits of YardGrade's liability?
To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, YardGrade is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or any contractor relationship, and our total liability for any claim is limited to CAD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Can these terms change?
YardGrade may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the revised terms here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page and our privacy policy periodically.
What law governs these terms?
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts located in Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to YardGrade or these terms. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@yardgrade.ca.
